I’m Contemporary Vice, a non-binary emerging artist based out of Calgary, Alberta. I was recently told by a 12 year old that my art “looks like a child’s imagination”. I believe this is a beautifully accurate description of my work. Through vibrant colors of playful imagery, I address the human experience using a divinely psychedelic lens. I create otherworldly characters that are abstract and beautifully flawed. I love to accentuate the chaos and imperfection of life, while hinting that magic is real. I began painting in 2019 and absolutely fell in love. I was soon filled with dreams, and within a year, moved to Calgary to pursue them. Since then, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and energy. I’ve done a multitude of events all over the city. Everything from gallery shows to music festivals. Sharing my art is important to me, as I yearn to inspire others and bring color to the world. In line with this, I’m very passionate about working with youth. I teach children’s art workshops in which we release our creativity and encourage self expression. I know that art is my purpose and I’m grateful to say that this is only the beginning.
