JASNEET PRITAM

Jasneet Pritam is a Kenyan-born Artist with South Asian roots. She is pursuing a BFA, majoring in visual studies at the University of Calgary. She is primarily a self-taught artist. Her passion for all things art and design drove her to her current educational pursuits. She aspires to have an interdisciplinary practice and intends to explore work that lies at the boundaries of art and architecture. Her current practice is focused on medium experimentation in digital and traditional forms, with a significant interest in mixed-media sculptural and installation pieces. Currently, Pritam uses printmaking to explore the complex emotions and notions of duality and conflict she feels concerning nostalgia and hope about the home she left in Kenya and the home she is forming in Calgary during her undergraduate degree.
