Danielle Rania

I am an emerging artist, born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Inspired by a basic art class, I quickly became fascinated with mixed media, textures and mediums, together combined with a newfound permission to get messy, I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s where I feel in my element. The creative process fills me with a renewed sense of purpose. I deeply appreciate what I refer to as blissful freedom, days filled with acrylic paints, canvases, music, and pouring medium. All of my original and unique mixed media paintings are contemporary, bold, colourful and bright, enhanced with differing textures, layers, fabrics, images, words and collage, and materials including papers, spray paint, pastel, acrylics and pencil crayon. 

I appreciate all of the Rocky Mountain wonder here in my Canadian backyard. I have a loving family that keeps me inspired and busy. My three children include my 8-year old boy/girl twins and proudly, my award winning champion adult climber son. I am motivated by nature, music and painting supplies. I typically sign my art with my middle name, Rania. Given to me by another source of inspiration and artist, my father. I also enjoy playing and listening to electronic house music. On a good day, you will find me covered in paint, dark roast coffee in hand, listening to my very own curated musical dj sets, as the backdrop sound to inspire my creations.
