Alejandro Alvarez

Alejandro’s interest in art began with graffiti and creating work on the streets. He transitioned to abstract work and then focused on art in an academic setting, obtaining his BFA. Since then, he has taught art to youth and adults in and outside of academic institutions. He continues to maintain a healthy art practice wherein he challenges himself.

Alejandro creates work with purpose and intention, using Art as a cathartic process. Most recently, he has been focusing on being more process-focused and just having fun with creating. He currently defines Art as “a language of passion expressed without compromise.” He also uses the Mantra, “Doing is Doing and Doing is Good” in his Artmaking practice, as a reminder to focus on the Act of creating being the goal – not a specific outcome.
