DANNIKA PODILUK

Dannika Podiluk is a Calgary, Alberta, born and based artist. She practices predominantly in Acrylics, and mixed media Mediums. As a self-taught artist, she prefers to focus on the values of play and paint with a spirited and inquisitive nature. Often presenting an off-beat and unique way of painting within her work, which is as important as the paint on her palette or on the brush in her hand. She prefers to employ a creative and experimental process to express feelings of liberation through every stroke of her brush. While she draws inspiration from various elements in her environment, the intersection of abstract and almost surrealistic crossroads plays a crucial role in depicting her perception of the world and drawing inspiration from its inhabitants. This intersection stands out as the most significant influence on her work. Dannika will continue to research and explore her practice and is excited to see where this focus will take her into 2024.
