IM Kalcounis (Ifegenia Maria Kalcounis)

I am versed in both Dance and visual arts. I am a mid-career Dance artist and an emerging visual artist. I made a modest living teaching both adults and children Dance and the creative process. I am highly trained in the creative process and self portraiture from Grant Mac Ewans fine and Performing arts campus.

I live each day waiting for a better day but take a lot of relief in drawing fleeting moments of human contact, me, female living as a hermit feels deeply, connection between male energy and my feminine identity and loneliness, this is what I depict in a lot of my drawings where I learn more about intimacy on paper than I ever have had with human relationships.

I was featured in Avenue magazine and Where Canada magazine. I am a recipient of the Brian Webb Dance Company award for choreography and a graduate of Grant MacEwan College with a performance diploma in dance.
