Mildred Leal is a student of visual arts at the AUArts and a newcomer to Calgary from Ecuador. She sees Calgary as a great source of inspiration: the landscapes, the city life, the community and the support to the arts. She enjoys doing art to inspire others, to brighten a space, and as a process of disconnecting from busy life and connecting herself. She also enjoys volunteering to paint murals and helping in the performing arts event happening around Calgary. She sees the arts as a way of expression as well as a way of self knowledge.
This artwork mini series is a depiction of a Slice of Life from the eyes of a toddler, inspired by her niece Mia and her best friend.
